The Nobel Prize for Physics in 1909 was given both to Prof. F. Braun and G. Marconi.

On Nobel Day 10th December 2009 contact DL0PFB (1)   or
watch special telegraph broadcast on longwave (2)

(1) On Nobel Prize Day, thursday 10th December 2009, Prof. Braun Day DL0PFB will be on air on amateur radio bands (80, 40, 20 m) for contacts in telegraphy only. Working hours will be from morning time GMT / UTC on until open end!

(2) Repeat Marconi's Atlantic Gap of 12th December 1901. Special slow A1 transmissions on longwave
147,3 kHz during hour + 15 to 18 and hour +45 to 48 in qrss3.
Does the tranmission be audioable at the American eastcoast or else where ?
Try out and tune in!
Perhaps you have to put the "audio frequency" on a soundcard and have a program to check the spectrum! Does it or work or not - find out! Hope you can, good luck!

The swedish amateur radio "Föreningen Sveriges Sändareamatörer" (SSA) has issued a "Nobel Prize Award". Until 10th December hams may work swedish stations and apply for this award. Conditions etc read on
